FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 Chevy Camaro doesn’t hit dealerships until February of ‘09, but we recently had the chance to slip behind the wheel of a V6-powered pre-production model. Despite a camouflage paint job and an unfinished interior, our Camaro was dubbed a “golden car” by the engineers; meaning that it was a good representation of what the production car would be like. In the few hours we spent driving through hilly terrain in San Diego, we were especially impressed by the Cadillac-sourced, 300-horsepower V6 that delivered strong acceleration (Chevy estimates zero-to-60-mph times in the low six-second range) along with sounds that evoked World War II-era dive bombers. Camaro fanatics will no doubt gravitate toward the V8 once it arrives, but the base powertrain proved no slouch. The car’s suspension was also impressive, smoothing out rough downtown potholes while still providing responsive handling and great grip. The verdict? We’re even more anxious to get our hands on the finished product. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit kbb.com today.
