Yeah you’re right, if i had the only pride and joy of Ford motors, I wouldnt want it to get its doors blown off by a far superior rival either. Each car came from the factory in a totally different configuration. GT-500 with a supercharger, Camaro SS without one puts the GT-500 in a slightly different class. You can order hennessy Camaros from a dealership, btw. Put a GT against an SS and you have a fair matchup and it has already been shown that the Camaro comes out on top.

Funny how it takes a Supercharged Ford to have a chance at a naturally aspirated Chevy huh? How widely available is the GT-500 to the public anyhow? I dont know that Iv ever seen one, yet everytime I drive through Destin I see at least two Camaros. I may just lose the GT-500 in the crowd though, Mustangs are a dime a dozen.

…and not really anything new or fresh or special to look at either. Just a decent sounding set of pipes, which is due almost entirely to the small displacement of the little engine that often cant, (rather than the big engine that can and does, and wears a bowtie in the process.)

But like the Hennessy it is still not a factory car, but rather a type of conversion, much like the southern comfort trucks and SUV’s. Those vehicles aren’t built in the process of normal production, neither is the GT-500

Be prepared for the Camero Z28 that will be put in production in 2 years. It is going to house the GM performance LSA supercharged engine (same one used in the CTS-V) putting out 556 hp.

well come 2011 the mustang gts are gonna have an all new naturally aspirated engine the 5.0 32 valve V8 CRANKING OUT 400 HP 400 TORQUE and also its gonna be 100s on pounds lighter the 3,868 lb camaro ss which means quicker accelaration and speed

goverment motors sales are still at a minus that Z28 is just wishful thinking …fords sells are up over both g.M and chrysler who cant sell big..even with the cash for clunkers success everyones eithers buying ford cars or imports

You buy hennessy camaros through the dealership too. Genius. All of this is beside the point because the GT-500 is not fords answer to the camaro ss. The camaro ss is a revived mustang GT and cobra killer. If it were intended to compete with a GT-500, it would not be naturally aspirated, but rather supercharged, making all things equal, actually they would lean heavily in favor of the camaro, the only thing that could hinder it then would be the driver.

I can’t believe guys are still argueing of mustangs vs camero’s. Both are great cars, it just depends on your personal preferance, get the fuck over yourselves. The beauty of cars is getting to drive around in them and have a good time, but bitch and say whats better than the other you childish pricks. GT-500 is a beautiful mustang, camero SS has some great new style, I say unless you’re mentally fucked in the head people should love them both.

I know. If you were in a camaro and you saw a mustang or a challenger, you would wave and say nice car, you wouldnt try to argue with them and say your car is better, it might be. so what? they are all great cars. The other day, I was in the 2010 Camaro with my dad, cause he bought one, and we saw a 2009 challenger, and we waved and said nice car. The people who wouldnt wave should never drive their car ever again.

Exactly. I personally am a car guy, but I don’t care what it is I’m driving as long as it’s fun to drive. What reaosn do people need to go around saying theirs is faster. I drive a celica GT, a small hatchback with a 4 cylinder engine. I could care less how fast it is, it’s fun to drive on curvy roads.

Camaro ultimately, is the better buy, and put that $16,000
(price difference between SS and GT500) into one, you will walk Super Snakes.

I meant the bottom end in the camaro is weak it will only hold like 475hp. The GT500 will hold up to around 900hp

@RYNORICHIE1 Yeah, the mark up was insane in the beginning. My Dad bought his 2SS/RS for like $34,000 or so with GMS pricing.

2010 gt500 on sticky tires = mid 11s…. what can the ss run, mid 12s, maybe…. but for the money that is good, cant complain…

you do have to look at it this was though… your gonna go to shelby for the gt500 dont forget make it fair… go to hennessey for the hpe550 then put em both on slicks or DR’s
